The sporting metaphor is a powerful and appropriate one to apply to digital production. It emphasises the single-mindedness and aspiration to create winning projects combined with the team approach required to cross the line first.

By participation, we mean a number of things. To us participating means interacting, signing up, commenting, tagging, purchasing, competing, spectating or taking part in a mass-participation event. Our goal is to maximise that level of audience contribution for sporting entities to maximise commercialisation and understanding of the sporting audience.

Founding directors, Anthony and Kevin were both 400 metre hurdlers - inspiring the name 13 Strides (the number of strides taken between two hurdles in the event).
